About the team The Online Datastores team provides data storage as a managed service for Netflix by enhancing and operating open source data stores. This includes feature development, tooling, automation, application development and operations related to the data stores in our portfolio. Our portfolio consists of a curated set of persistent data stores and caches that includes Cassandra, Aurora, CockroachDB, EVCache, Elasticsearch and ZooKeeper. The data stores cater to a variety of use cases such as Streaming, Studio, Gaming and Tudum. We impact numerous interactions of Netflix customers including sign up, sign in, recommendations, play, viewing history, payments, account settings, etc. About the opportunityThis opportunity involves providing operational support to Cassandra 2.1 production clusters during Pacific time business hours, and contributing to the Cassandra fleet’s control plane and ecosystem. About you- You have 5+ years of experience in operating and supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, mission-critical distributed systems in production. Experience supporting Cassandra data stores is a huge plus.- You are proficient in Java and Python.- You have a B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
