Lead Marketing Automation Developer

Position Overview: As a Lead Marketing Automation Developer, on the athenaIT team at athenahealth, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing marketing campaigns to meet requirements of prospect and customer marketing strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to leverage Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), a CDP, and other platforms and data sources to deliver data-driven marketing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Marketing Automation Architect to understand the unique requirements and translate them into technical solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.Implement customer engagement journeys and marketing automation workflows using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Personalization, and the CDP.Leverage personalization capabilities to create highly personalized customer experiences across digital channels based on Marketing requirements.Integrate data with data sources and destinations to ensure accurate customer segmentation, targeting, and data analysis.Configure and maintain data extensions and automations within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Personalization.Implement defined A/B/n testing and optimization strategies to continuously improve campaign performance and customer engagement.QA, monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to marketing campaigns, email deliverability, and data privacy.Document technical solutions and version changes for knowledge sharing and training purposes.Stay up to date with the latest Marketing Automation, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Personalization features, industry best practices, and regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud requiredSalesforce Marketing Cloud Admin and Developer certifications required.Proficiency with SFMC Personalization (formerly Interaction Studio/Evergage) is required, including updating site map.Strong proficiency in HTML/CSS, SQL, SSJS, and AMPscript for responsive email development, data manipulation, and dynamic content personalization.Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs for data integration and third-party tool connections.Experience with CDP integrations and core functionality (e.g., identity resolution, segmentation).Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.Ability to understand performance metrics related to engagement, deliverability, and reputation.
