Position SummaryRekor is looking for a senior iOS Engineer to join our Mobile team and help us build the future of law enforcement and traffic monitoring software. The role will provide subject matter expertise to our engineering leadership and design groups on the iOS platform, as well as architect a new mobile application for iOS alongside our Android team, building in parallel.

Role and ResponsibilitiesArchitect a new mobile application, using our legacy app as a reference to expand and improve its capabilities in a modern code base.Provide subject matter expertise to the team on the best code practices as well as user experience expectations for the iOS platform.Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our build and deployment process, and devise improvement strategies to address them.Translate end-user requirements and use cases into functional requirements.Establish best practices using automated testing frameworks for integration and unit testing.Profile and measure software quality and performance as we continually improve our code base.

Qualifications and Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering; successful completion of an iOS Engineering bootcamp program; or equivalent work experienceProficient in Swift and have built and shipped multiple iOS apps.Working knowledge of Objective-C (our codebase is mostly Swift, but we do use some Objective-C)Experience with using SwiftUI to build iOS applications.Experience and perspective on testing that stems from using unit tests, code reviews, and other quality control mechanisms to ship code.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesGood team-working and communication skillsExperience with Agile/SCRUM process and techniques.Bonus points: experience with CI/CD production pipeline systems to automate building, testing, and deploying iOS applications.
