PHP Developer

Job Title: PHP DeveloperLocation: Fully Remote (UK) Salary: £4,500 per month

Company and RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic Developer to join our well funded, dynamic media company. The Group has operations in the key media and tech hubs of London, Singapore, LA, Sydney & Tokyo and works with blue chip media organisations such as the BBC, Discovery and the biggest streaming services in the world. The Chairman has a software development background so the business has a tech forward mindset running through its core.

This role is ideal for an experienced developer who enjoys working closely with customers and being part of a dynamic development team. Finding creative, innovative solutions to satisfy our users needs is actively encouraged within our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing media Group with involvement in a number of exciting projects with world-class entertainment companies!

As part of the development team you will play a vital role in delivering these solutions and ensuring the overall success of the business. The role is remote and on a contract basis, working with the Central European Dev team of three.

Essential Skills/Experience

3+ years experience or Degree level qualification in relevant subjectExperience in object-oriented PHP development using any PHP frameworkExperience in HTML/CSS and JavaScript frontend developmentStrong database skills with MySQL or another SQL dialectKnowledge of AWS administration (EC2, S3, RDS, among others)Experience using a version control system such as Git, understanding of branching strategiesSpoken and written English at professional level

Preferable Skills/Experience

Knowledge of Ubuntu Linux (including Bash, Cron, SSH)HTML5 Video StreamingRESTful Web ServicesTest-driven development using PHPUnitExperience using deployment pipelinesUnderstanding of Docker
