Back-end PHP Developer for CodeIgniter Upgrade Project

A client of Scalable Path's is looking for a Back-end PHP Developer for CodeIgniter Upgrade Project. This is a remote, full-time position.

CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:The immediate client is a tech consultancy helping companies develop and manage web applications.

OVERVIEW:A client of Scalable Path's is working on a major project to upgrade a large legacy PHP 5.5 application written in CodeIgniter 2 to PHP 8.3 and CodeIgniter 3. The app is owned and run by a large construction company. The functionality of the app is not changing, it is only being upgraded for security reasons.

The app has over 2000 controller actions and connects to Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.

The application runs on Windows servers and development will need to be done on remote desktop using Citrix to connect and do development (likely using PhpStorm).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Upgrade application actions to CodeIgnitor- Testing that upgraded sections of the application function identically to the existing application- Debugging and fixing any issues that arise

RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:You will be working with the founder of the consulting agency and multiple other developers. The client is in the America/Chicago (-05:00) CDT time zone.

START DATE: As soon as possible.

EXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION: 6-12 monthsThe client would like to have the project completed by November 2024.

PREFERRED REGIONS:The client's preference is for candidates to be located in United States.

NOTES:The client requires that developers be in the United States.
