A Week In The Life Of a Software Developer
Serve as the front-end developer for an in-house developed application, with a focus on web GUI development.Provide expertise in Stylesheets, Java Script ES6, HTML and HTML5 markup.Work on a variety of automation efforts: in-house applications, security compliance automation, and operating systemsContribute towards an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) paradigm to manage the infrastructure as a whole programmatically and provide an enterprise level solution to security and complianceParticipate with development efforts using the following programming languages: Python, Perl, Java Native Interface (JNI), Java, Database Connectivity (JDBC), YAML, Flask, Node.js.Engage in full-cycle end-to-end development, spanning design through implementation, with a focus on agile software development.Collaborate closely with development team members to facilitate planning, release planning, and work prioritization across the portfolioPartner with application architects as well as other application teams to implement solutions and ensure effective integration with downstream systems.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline preferably computer science or software development.Relevant experience in Software Development.A current Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.DoD 8570 IAT-II equivalent certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.Ability to work independently and proactively.Able to develop with, integrate with, and manage APIs exposing microservices (REST).Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.Preferred Full-stack programming experience using HTML and JavaScript; Flask or NodeJS; templating engines (Jinja, Mustache, etc.); and SQL queries.Preferred experience developing serverless/micro-service-based applications hosted in cloud-based PaaS offerings.Preferred experience or ability to quickly engage in new and emerging methodologies and tools (e.g. container development, OpenShift; Docker; GitHub; SonarQube; Twistlock; and Ansible)Preferred experience or ability to quickly engage with Cloud and automation tools/technologies such as CI/CD tool suites; IaaS, PaaS, SaaS tool suites; other tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, Maven, Docker, SonarQube, etc.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $75,000 – 126,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
