Position Overview:

We are hiring for a Canada-based IT company.

Are you a seasoned WordPress Developer with a passion for crafting accessible, custom WordPress themes? We're seeking a talented individual to join our team remotely. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing accessible custom WordPress themes from scratch, utilizing frameworks like Underscores or similar accessible starter themes. Your role will involve turning wireframes and mockups into seamless user experiences, deploying and maintaining websites, adding new functionality, and ensuring optimal site performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:Develop accessible custom WordPress themes from scratch using Underscores or similar frameworks.Translate wireframes and mockups into effective user experiences.Deploy and maintain websites, ensuring optimal performance and security.Add new functionality to existing features and develop new features as required.Document bugs and fixes, and provide user training upon website deployment.Integrate accessibility into theme development and ensure adherence to best practices.Utilize source control management using GitHub.Implement a mobile-first approach to development.Utilize Advanced Custom Fields and develop and consume REST APIs.Build and integrate theme components following best practices for reusability.

Required Technical Skills & Knowledge:PHP HTML5 MYSQL CSS & SCSS JQuery, Javascript Knowledgeable in integrating Accessibility into the theme Source control management using Github Familiarity with CPanel Mobile-first approach in development Knowledgeable in using Advanced Custom Fields Custom Wordpress Theme Development using Underscores theme Familiarity with developing and consuming REST APIs. Aptitude to build and integrate theme components following best practices for reusability.

Qualifications:5+ years of proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio showcasing custom WordPress themes and plugin development.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile optimization.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Strong understanding of web development best practices and standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to Have:Bootstrap/Foundation or other CSS FrameworksKnowledge of using FigmaKnowledge of using JIRA SoftwareKnowledge of using Photoshop
