Senior Python Developer (Remote OK)

ABOUT VERSAFEED:Fancy ETL pipeline processing products from huge ecommerce companies. Data extraction and massage, delivery to destinations like Google/Facebook/Snap/Tiktok/etc. Profitable, stable, 15-year history, employee owned (no VC money, VC expectations, or lame meetings).

ABOUT YOU:A coder's coder. Cringe when your uncle calls himself an SWE because he knows visual basic and maintains wordpress sites. Live and breathe complex code bases and not intimidated with complex architectural refactors. Deeply respected by your colleagues as someone who "gets it done". Have fought several battles with large Python code bases and lived to tell the tale. You know who you are!!

ABOUT US:We're looking for a long term addition to our core team — you will become a guru here and be part of an elite/tight coding team. Have intimate knowledge of Python/Django, Un*x, PostgreSQL, AWS, and ideally some data engineering ETL/DAG/Data-Warehouse knowledge as well.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Be a serious Python programmer with 8+ years professional (paid) experience coding and at least 2 coding Python recently. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR JUNIOR DEVS AT THIS TIME.Capable of re-architecting/refactoring challenging code to modern standards (so junior devs can contribute more readily).Able to wear many hats! Design/code/test/maintain (and READ!) Python, research proxies/crawlers, tighten up devops, optimize SQL, design next-gen system (Dagster or Airflow + Snowflake). Be an IC but also be comfortable making high-level architecture plans and then executing on them.Willing to "get dirty" with technical deep dives on bugs and new tech that requires more than reading stack exchange. We need a gunslinger here! Be resourceful and inquisitive!
