Java API developer - only(USC or GC)

Role: Java API Engineer REMOTE Min - 10+ IT Exp Responsibilities: API Development: Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs using Java technologies. Build APIs that are well-structured, efficient, and scalable to support current and future business needs. Integration: Integrate APIs with various internal and external systems, databases, and third-party services. Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability between different components of the application ecosystem. Documentation: Create comprehensive API documentation including specifications, usage guidelines, and examples. Maintain up-to-date documentation to facilitate easy adoption and integration of APIs by developers and stakeholders. Testing: Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of APIs. Conduct thorough testing to identify and fix bugs, edge cases, and performance bottlenecks. Performance Optimization: Optimize API performance through efficient coding practices, caching mechanisms, and database optimizations. Monitor API performance metrics and conduct performance tuning as needed to enhance scalability and responsiveness. Security: Implement security best practices such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and input validation to protect APIs against security threats and vulnerabilities. Adhere to security standards and protocols to ensure data privacy and integrity. Versioning and Maintenance: Manage API versioning and backward compatibility to support evolving business requirements. Perform regular maintenance, updates, and bug fixes to keep APIs running smoothly and efficiently. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in API development using Java technologies. Strong proficiency in Java programming language and familiarity with Java EE or Spring frameworks. Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, HTTP protocols, and JSON/XML data formats. Experience with API security standards and protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS). Proficient in database concepts and SQL queries. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus. Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and serverless computing. Experience with RESTful APIs, SOA & EDA / messaging protocols (e.g., JMS), and integration patterns. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, and management. Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, and S3 to build robust data transfer / API options and microservices / domain driven APIs
