The jobThe ideal candidate would come in with experience in building SaaS platform products at scale, with a focus on application developer workflows. A background in industrial automation, IoT platforms, and/or control systems would be preferred. The position reports to the VP of Product and will be a key part of our Product Team. The ideal candidate must have experience in shipping and deploying software at scale. This person would be able to empathize with application developers, data scientists and data engineers in the industrial automation space, in order to provide a superior experience for them on Kelvin. This person may have manufacturing or industrial automation / controls domain knowledge but understand and apply best Product Management practices. In other words, we are looking for someone who feels comfortable with their industry expertise and will be able to bring that to our small but mighty Product Team. This person will be able to get into the weeds of the product and technology architecture but will also be comfortable writing user stories as they are interacting with customers and market thought leaders to develop a deep understanding about the product-market needs. We prefer to have this person located in Houston to facilitate in meeting our clients and attend meetings at the Houston office.
You will be the right fit if you:Have experience shipping/deploying software at scale - enterprise grade software. Have built and scaled platforms with a focus on application developer toolsUnderstand needs of application developers, data scientists and data engineers in complex enterprise environmentsUnderstand and have manufacturing industry experience and / or expertise in Industrial automation, process control, IoT or similar space.Strong understanding about operations and workflows in the manufacturing and other related industrial verticals.Have a track record as a Product Manager for a B2B SaaS company.Scrappy and able to drive rapid experimentation with users and Kelvin product/design teamsAre deeply collaborative since you will be interacting daily with engineers, designers, customers and SMEs.4-6 years of experience in product management; experience and examples of leading successful SaaS/PaaS product definitions and releasesExperience in agile software lifecycle management in a cloud environment.Strong understanding of the Edge to Cloud software stack, Cloud / Hybrid deployment models, [including, but not limited to aspects of modern technology architecture components like Kubernetes, Docker / Containerized services, etc.].Hands-on experience in launching Analytics / ML / Autonomous control applications.
At Kelvin, your main responsibilities will be:Perform market, competitor, and product research. Synthesize research to help set a strategic direction and priority for the product portfolio.Build and evaluate business cases to support product investment decisions.Work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to gather product feedback and customer requirements.Collaborate with engineering, data science, and other cross-functional teams to create clear product requirements and roadmap.Own and provide oversight to delivery of product capabilities by working with engineering, design, data science and other product managers.Work closely with product and corporate marketing to develop messaging, collateral, and enablement materials.Present with authority at industry conferences, panels, and customers and internal events.Effectively and proactively communicate with customers and build a trusted advisor relationship.Build best practices and processes for the product management team that will enable Kelvin to deliver products in a consistent fashion
Preferred to have:Experience in designing and launching experiments to validate market or product capabilities.Experience in collaborating with design to rapidly iterate on new product capabilities.Worked in an international team.Solid experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), Aha!, Github to deliver products / services.Advanced degree such as a Master’s in Business Administration, focus on Product Management or relevant subject areas.
