Power BI Developer (with Azure Data Engineering skills)

Job Description:As an Azure Data Engineer with Power BI expertise, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions for our retail client. You will be responsible creating insightful visualizations using Power BI to empower stakeholders with actionable insights and will also possess knowledge and development experience of building scalable data pipelines and developing data models in the backend. Responsibility split includes working on Power BI: 70-80% and Azure Data Engineering 20-30% (ADF, ADB, ADL, Synapse). This is a remote role based in India with the opportunity to work on challenging projects for our retail client.

Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that leverage Azure data services and Power BI.Create interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide insights into key business metrics, trends, and performance indicators.Collaborate with data analysts and business users to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate on dashboard designs to meet evolving business needs.Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to identify root causes of data issues and implement corrective actions to ensure data integrity and accuracy.Provide support in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines, data integration and ETL processes to ensure the availability, reliability, and quality of data for analytics and reporting purposes.Offer a decent understanding of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services like Azure Synapse Analytics to support business reporting and analysis needs.Implement security and access controls to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Stay updated on the latest Azure data services, Power BI features, and industry best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our offerings.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Azure data engineering and Power BI development best practices.

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum 6+years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses in the Azure ecosystem.Expertise in Power BI development, including creating interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power Query, DAX, and M languages.Experience with data visualization best practices, data storytelling, and dashboard design principles.Proficiency in Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob StorageStrong SQL skills and experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning in Azure SQL Database or similar platforms.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Azure certifications such as DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution and DP-201: Designing an Azure Data Solution are preferred.Proven track record of delivering successful data engineering and Power BI projects in a retail or similar industry context.
