Senior Python backend Developer

Key responsibilitiesWork with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.Design client-side and server-side architecture.Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design.Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.Write effective APIs.Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.Create security and data protection settings.Build features and applications with a mobile-responsive design.Write technical documentation.Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software.Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality software solutions using Python, React, and relevant libraries/frameworks.Optimize applications by leveraging suitable libraries and integrating APIs.Create and maintain robust, automated unit tests to ensure system reliability and performance.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies to ensure project success.Experience in mobile applications is a plus.

QualificationsProven experience as a Python backend Developer or similar role with 7+ years of experience in Python backend development.Familiarity with common stacks.Solid understanding of system design.Proficient in integrating APIs into Python (FAST API, Flask) applications and API testing.Familiarity with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and UI/UX design.Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Basic understanding of MLOps is preferred but not mandatory.Ability to work in the Canadian time zone (UTC/GMT -6 hours).Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or relevant field are preferred.
