Back-End Developer

Fusion Consulting is looking for an experienced back-end developer to join our product team. You should have at least 4 years of relevant work experience as a back-end developer writing web services and APIs used by front-end and or mobile app developers in commercial projects.As part of our back-end product team, you enjoy the challenge of taking part in complex technical projects and delivering iterative solutions that provide value and contribute to optimal feature flow for our customers at each step of the way. You will be in the server-side application logic as well as working closely with the front-end team to integrate the UI and other front-end components into the back-end microservices databases and APIs.

What you will be doing:Build web applications following best practices in web development.Translate application designs into code using programming languages such as Java or Python.Participate in the entire application lifecycle, with a focus on coding and debugging.Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.Work with external partners to integrate external APIs into our back-end services.Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical and design considerations.Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance routinely.Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of business SMEs and developers.

What we are looking for:Minimum of 4 years of experience as a back-end developer.Advanced understanding of the web development process from inception to deployment.Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python.Experience in API design and development, particularly in GraphQL.Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Spring Boot framework.Proficient in code versioning tools like Git.Exposure to Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines for cloud platforms (e.g., Jenkins).Familiarity with front-end languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
