The notification system is responsible for providing automated updates to all 3rd party sellers and is a critical component of the seller experience on the ecommerce platform. A new system is being built by the customer, and TGS will be responsible for deprecating dependencies on the legacy system. This system is global and these engineers will need experience in large distributed systems. Everyone is going to be hands on in this project. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on software development of critical APIs to connect internal systems to external facing notification systems. Basic Qualifications:· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field· Computer Science fundamentals in OO design, data structures and algorithm design· 6+ year relevant work experience in building and managing complex systems in production.· 6+ or more years’ experience in software development, proficient in Java.· Understanding of CI/CD, Git based version control, agile scrum methodologies.· Experience with testing, profiling, debugging and optimizing large scale systems.· Ability to learn and adapt quickly to the engineering practices in the team.· Excellent team player. Ability to estimate, plan, track and deliver individual tasks on time.· Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Preferred Qualifications:· Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills specifically with Java, Typescript, and Python· Experience in building test harness and test infrastructure.· Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems architecture, algorithms, and relational databases· Ability to refactor programs effectively and evaluate optimization opportunities from system performance and risks perspective.· Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges, risks, trade-offs and solutions
