BrightEdge is looking for a Software Engineer to join our platform team. At the core of our software is the BrightEdge Platform and we’re looking for a design-focused engineer that is thoughtful on design and excellent in communication to take on this challenge. In this position, you will develop, and architect key platform components used to power our platform, which is used by some of the largest companies in the world. At BrightEdge, our Senior Software Engineers

Lead the design, development, and implementation of key back-end components in Python Develop highly scalable systems using open source technologies like Hive, Impala, Hadoop, HBase, and cloud technologies (Amazon AWS) Design highly modular and scalable objects that will interface with our front-end team and third party vendors Value collaboration with UI and lead design meetings with different teams to negotiate interface definitions Review code for performance, scalability, maintainability, and flexibility

The Ideal Candidate

3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer BS/MS in Computer Science or related field Expert knowledge of Python and/or Java, MySQL, and microservices Knowledge or hands-on experience of Redis, AWS, Google My Business, GraphQL, Hadoop, Hive would be a plus Background in distributed systems and/or developing enterprise software systems Strong communication and ability to work well on a team Independent worker with ability to take initiative and ownership on projects Ability to learn new frameworks quickly and drive innovative solutions Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
