POSITION OVERVIEWThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record in integrating, delivering, or building world-class software, preferably within a rapidly expanding tech startup environment. This role is crucial for migrating current applications to a new, advanced database system, optimizing SQL performance, troubleshooting system issues, enhancing integration with third-party vendors, and facilitating knowledge transfer regarding best practices for database use.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using PythonPerform SQL and PL/SQL optimization to enhance system performance.Lead migration projects from various database managers to a new, cutting-edge database system, ensuring minimal impact and maximal efficiency.Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues, offering deep technical insights.Improve data integration and modelling with third-party vendors using ETLs, BI, and CDCs.Conduct knowledge transfer sessions on the use of the new database system and its best practices.Collaborate with teams to innovate and deliver superior database solutions.

QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience in software integration, delivery, or development, with a preference for experience in a fast-growing tech startup.Expertise in SQL optimization and backend development with Python.Familiarity with ETLs, BI tools, CDCs, and integrating data from third-party vendors.Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker).Demonstrated experience in database migration projects, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new database technologies.Exceptional problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.Effective communication skills for knowledge transfer and collaborative teamwork.
