Ruby on Rails Developer

Ring Twice is looking for an outstanding Back-end Developer (Ruby on Rails) to join our beloved team in Brussels (Central station) as from whenever we find our little nugget.

Founded in 2013, Ring Twice is the first accredited sharing economy platform in Belgium, which raised more than 1M€. This two-sided marketplace allow its users to find trustworthy people in their neighborhood, ready to give them a hand by sharing their talents and passions for daily services (gardening, assembling IKEA furniture, giving piano classes, taking care of the dog during the holidays,…). Our ambition is to bring people closer together, one job at a time. To achieve this, we can already count on a team of 20 motivated members and the platforms gathers more than 1.5 million users in Belgium & France.

We are currently looking for an outstanding Ruby on Rails Developer developer to join our engineering team composed of 5 devs (3 back-end, 2 front-end React / React Native).

ResponsibilitiesImprove Ring Twice’s back-end features and stabilityParticipating in Code Reviews & Pair Programming to ensure the quality, maintainability of the code and knowledge sharingMonitor performance and bugs in order to guarantee a unique experience to our usersParticipate in the development of internal toolsChallenge, implement and demonstrate the new features being part of an agile team

Required skillsYou have at least 3 years of experience with Ruby and/or Ruby On RailsExperience with legacy code and old codebasesUnderstand the importance of building structured code that is fast, reliable and robustExperience with automated testing (unit/integration/feature tests) (RSpec)Strong software architecture & data modeling skillsStrong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and software engineering best practices

Nice-to have requirementsYou have some DevOps experience & affinityYou have experience with a Javascript framework (eg. ReactJS)You are not afraid to learn different technologies

Our offices are located in BeCentral, literally above the Central Station of Brussels. If you are from Belgium, homeworking is obviously possible (and encouraged up to 2 days/week). We are open to fully remote candidates.
