Senior Laravel Developer (REMOTE)

Our client in the tourism industry is looking for a skilled Laravel Developer who's comfortable with modern PHP, HTML, and CSS. Proficient in using WordPress as a CMS with custom code and styles, with a focus on performance, SEO, and flexibility for the user.

Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining, improving, and further developing websites built both in WordPress and Laravel while maintaining performance and a clean, well-structured codebase.

Requirements:A strong understanding of modern PHP (PHP 8 and newer) including object-oriented programming, exception handling and logging, and security best practices.A solid foundation in modern CSS and HTML including semantic HTML (not justDIVs!) CSS grid, CSS custom-properties, mobile-first development, progressive enhancement, and BEM methodology.An eye for web design and UI best-practices including web accessibility, adaptive and modular designs, and conversion optimization / SEO.Openness to new or better ways of working, improving, and learning.

Responsibilities:WordPress development: working with our existing custom WordPress theme and plugins, fixing and improving the codebase and keeping them updating with latest updates from WordPress.Frontend development: build new designs provided in Figma using clean, semantic, and clear PHP, mobile-first HTML, and CSS / SCSS. Designs will always be responsive and performant.Website maintenance: Perform ongoing updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Monitor site performance and address issues promptly to maintain optimal functionality and user satisfaction.Build and maintain integrations: Customize and integrate third-party plugins, APIs, and tools to extend WordPress capabilities and meet unique project requirements. Ensure seamless integration and compatibility with existing systems.Performance optimization: Improve site performance. Monitor and evaluate site speed and make necessary improvements.
