Junior Developer

VAT Calc is a disruptive Tax Technology company, still in the start-up phase and growing to deliver for a large pipeline of client’s and we are looking for a junior full-stack analyst developer who is excited to come on this journey with us.

The right candidate will be highly motivated, reliable, a genuine self starter and have some experience in our core technologies. The role includes all aspects of the development cycle from analysis, design, implementation, test and operations giving you opportunities to get broad experience in current technologies. We are a small team, and we all get involved in everything.

We work in a true start-up style of iterative Agile development, taking feedback and delivering in short cycles, it keeps the pace exciting and we are confirming our requirements with feedback from our customer base, both directly and using Full Story.

Our platform is built in the Firebase ecosystem, with noSQL db and host on Google Cloud Platform. The technology is scalable and serverless; and our products are available via our Angular web app and an Express RESTful API.

What you will be doing: Developing our platform (app & API) based on Product requirements, including analysis and refinement of requirements, coding, testing, documentation and deployment tasks Innovation, we have already made some disruptive changes in the way we do Tax Technology software, but we are always looking for new ideas and ways to leverage current technology in a space which has been quite slow to adopt Get stuck in, we are looking for someone who is happy outside of their comfort zone and jump into the unknown, someone who will enjoy the diverse and dynamic work you will only see in early stage start-ups
