The Lens (https://www.lens.org/) - the flagship project of the social enterprise Cambia (https://cambia.org/), is the global leader in open patent and scientific literature search and analysis and innovation mapping. We are looking for someone to assist in our UI development.
There are many exciting and challenging features planned for development, including a report builder, collaboration tools and the display and visualisation of disparate types of data in a single, harmonious user interface.
Our development team has complete control over system design and technology choices so you will have the opportunity to influence the UI design and technologies we use going forward. Your tasks will be challenging and engaging and you will work closely with the rest of our highly skilled and motivated team. We are a small globally respected organisation and as such we have a friendly, flexible work culture with an emphasis on high quality results and streamlined processes.
Required:Excellent understanding of front-end web technologies: JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS Experience with React, AngularJS or other JavaScript frameworksExperience with build and test automation tools including npm, webpack and jest and/or StorybookProficient with source control systems such as Git2+ years of commercial front end, full-stack development experience or equivalentMust be adaptable, agile and able to pivot between multiple tasks.Must be able to effectively communicate concepts and ideas
Bonus Points:Experience with backend technologies (Java, Kotlin, Spring, Python, etc.)Relational databases or search indexes (MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch)A GitHub account and/or online portfolioData-driven product development: analytics, A/B testing, etc.Experience with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibilityUniversity degree in IT or other relevant fieldPassion for enabling global innovation for climate changeRespect for science and technology-enabled problem solving.A cover letter describing how you can impact the development of the Lens
