Junior/Mid Backend Developer

MINE CRIMEMine Crime is a tech company that, thanks to its proprietary AI-based technology, is capable of collecting, verifying, cleaning and geo-coding data on crime and urban decay phenomena. It is currently associated with +16k data-sources at an international level, and holds the biggest database on crime ever created worldwide (+35mln geo-coded crime events). In addition, thanks to its integrated mathematical model, Mine Crime is capable of transforming the aforementioned data in multi composite risk indicators. Our targets/clients, mainly corporate and local governments, use our software to look at future risk scenarios and plan risk mitigation interventions. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We look for a Junior/Mid Backend Developer that will be responsible for implementing backend tasks, and full-stack tasks as needed.The candidate will participate in improving and developing new integrations within an application dedicated to web scraping of data of interest to the Mine Crime ecosystemShe/he will perform the breakdown of sources by municipalities and provinces covered and expand the newspaper capture capacity within the system, increasing the amount starting with the most populous cities in descending order to the smallest.The candidate will work with the team to optimize application performance, resolve any technical issues and, occasionally, handle frontend work, including implementing new features and bug fixing

REQUIREMENTSThorough proficiency in Python programming language, preferably with at least 1 year experience (including on Django framework).Experience in the use of REST APIs (command line knowledge, Linux systems and server administration operations welcome).Knowledge of major libraries used for data analysis and scraping, such as Beautiful Soup, Pandas, and Requests.Basic familiarity with non-relational databases, such as Mongo DB or Firebase.Knowledge of Typescript, Vue.js, HTML, Javascript and CSS is appreciated.
