Back End Developer

We offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and become a key stakeholder through equity participation. As a Backend Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our platform, contributing your expertise to build scalable backend systems that drive our growth and innovation.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support the core functionality of the website.Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to define technical requirements and ensure smooth integration of frontend and backend systems.Optimize backend performance and scalability to handle large volumes of data and user traffic effectively.Implement security best practices to safeguard user data and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.Troubleshoot and debug backend issues, implementing efficient solutions to maintain platform stability.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.Proven experience in backend development, with a strong understanding of backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, etc.).Proficiency in database design and management, with experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and implementing scalable API endpoints.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including experience deploying and managing backend services in cloud environments.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in backend systems.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Being based in the SF Bay Area is a plus.
