Position Overview:

As a Senior Shopify Developer, you will play a key role in leading the design, development, and optimisation of Shopify-based e-commerce websites. Leveraging your extensive expertise in web development and Shopify customisation, you will spearhead projects, mentor junior team members, and provide strategic guidance to ensure the success of our clients’ online ventures. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with a passion for e-commerce and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of custom Shopify themes and solutions, adhering to best practices for performance, scalability, and security.Architect and implement complex features and functionalities on Shopify stores, including custom app integrations, third-party APIs, and payment gateways.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and marketers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver exceptional results.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, sharing best practices, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and Shopify platform updates to drive innovation and recommend strategic enhancements for client projects.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, perform website audits, and optimize site performance to ensure an optimal user experience and maximum conversion rates.Serve as a subject matter expert on Shopify development, providing guidance and support to clients and internal stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Shopify Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in Shopify customization and development.Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid templating language.Extensive experience with Shopify’s APIs, app development, and theme customization.In-depth knowledge of web design principles, UX/UI best practices, and responsive design techniques.Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex Shopify projects from concept to completion.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse requirements and propose innovative solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Shopify Plus certification or experience working with Shopify Plus merchants.Experience with other e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce or Magento.Knowledge of SEO principles and techniques to optimise Shopify stores for search engine visibility.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
