Job Description:As a Backend Developer at Babonbo, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the server-side components of our platform. You’ll work closely with the frontend, design, and product teams to ensure a smooth and efficient user experience. Your expertise in Node.js, Express, and MongoDB will be vital in creating robust and scalable solutions to support our growing user base.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and product managers to understand and implement backend requirements. • Design, develop, and maintain APIs and server-side logic using Node.js and Express. • Create and optimize database schemas and queries using MongoDB to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. • Implement user authentication and authorization mechanisms to enhance platform security. • Integrate third-party services and APIs to extend platform functionality. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices and coding standards. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in backend development using Node.js and Express. • Experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases. • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development. • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git. • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms. • Ability to write efficient, secure, and well-documented code. • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities. • Previous experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment is a plus. • Fluent English is a must since the team is international.

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of GraphQL and its implementation. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Understanding of microservices architecture. • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
