Job Description

We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our founding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the backend development of our SaaS application, which is designed to accelerate the workflow of patent lawyers. This role requires experience with Ruby on Rails and a commitment to writing high-quality code.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable server-side logic using Ruby on Rails. Develop new features and make significant contributions to an early product. Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems. Help maintain code quality.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Backend Developer. Minimum 3 years of experience with Ruby on Rails. Front-end experience is a plus.

Compensation

Above market, will exceed current / last salary.

Location

This position is available to candidates based in India and Central/South America.

Experience Level

Candidates should have 3 or more years of experience in backend development.

Bryant Lee (CEO): Bryant has been a patent lawyer for 10 years, having graduated from Harvard Law School and worked at one of the most prestigious U.S. law firms. He has co-founded 3 YC-backed companies. He was a computer science Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon University working with Prof. Luis von Ahn, founder of Duolingo.

Earl Hathaway (CTO): Earl previously co-founded DataGrail, a series C legal tech company that has raised over $80M USD. He has twenty years of technical experience.
