Senior iOS Software Developer

Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior iOS Software Developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of iOS devices including mobile phones and tablet computers. Your primary focus will be development of iOS applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be leading a team of engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

What You Will Do

Manage a software development team to design and build applications for the iOS platformEnforce the best software architecture and design pattern, along with established engineering best practices, design guidelines and principles ensure best practicesEnsure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsSupport production issues, triage and troubleshooting. Manage and drive all parts of SDLC including CICD build, software release and deployment. Interface with product owner and customer to define, refine, decompose requirements.Maintain high level code quality, organization, and automatizationDirect junior Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, while collaborating with Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiencesActively participate in all team Agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest qualityRemain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, 3rd party libraries, etc.)Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader teamActively engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.)Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teamsIdentify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutionsReview merge requests and ensure adherence to Swift and other language idiomsExperience with Objective-C or Swift and Cocoa TouchExperience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuningFamiliarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end servicesKnowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standardsFluent in Apple’s design principles and interface guidelinesKnowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferredExperience with performance and memory tuning with toolsFamiliarity with cloud message APIs and push notificationsKnack for benchmarking and optimizationExperience understanding of code versioning tools Experience managing and owning continuous integration pipeline

What You Need To Have

Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 8 years of experienceAt least 6 years of experience in software engineeringAt least 5 years of experience building iOS applicationsAt least 4 years of experience with SwiftFluent with Apple’s design principles and interface guidelinesExperience with Git version controlStrong communication skills, spoken and written.Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuningExperience with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end servicesKnowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
