We are seeking a creative and experienced Lead Full Stack Developer - GenAI to join our team here at Thomson Reuters. You will play a pivotal role in building cutting-edge applications that interact with state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs), delivering innovative and time-saving solutions to attorneys across the country. As a Lead Full Stack Developer - GenAI, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining our full-stack applications, leveraging your expertise in both frontend and backend technologies. You will work closely with our team to integrate LLMs into our applications, enabling seamless and efficient interactions between users and these powerful language models. Our ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a strong command of modern web development frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies. You should have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code, as well as experience working with APIs.

As the Lead Full Stack Engineer, Generative AI you will:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of our Generative AI Data Engine product and platform, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as large language models (LLMs) and other AI/ML techniques.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and subject matter experts, to understand and refine requirements, and translate them into robust, scalable, and efficient solutions.
Drive the architecture and technology decisions for the Generative AI platform, ensuring it adheres to best practices, industry standards, and security protocols.
Mentor and lead a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Generative AI, LLMs, and related technologies, and contribute to the team's knowledge-sharing initiatives.
About You
An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development. This should include hands-on coding, debugging, and deployment of applications, as well as experience in software design and architecture.
Proficiency in C# .NET and/or Python is required. Demonstrate a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, coding best practices, and be comfortable writing clean, maintainable code.
Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React is essential. Adept at building responsive and intuitive user interfaces, and have a good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems.
While not mandatory, familiarity with micro frontend architecture is a significant plus. This includes the ability to design and implement front-end applications as a composition of independently deliverable, deployable, and upgradable features or services.
Substantial experience in developing and maintaining enterprise-level applications. This includes an understanding of complex system integrations, database management, and application scaling.
Direct experience with generative AI technologies, especially Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT4 or Claude3, is highly desirable. You should be able to integrate these models into applications, understand their limitations, and be familiar with AI ethics considerations.
Proficiency with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform is required. You should be comfortable with cloud computing services including virtual machines, containers, serverless functions, and cloud storage solutions.
Strong leadership skills are key for this role. You should be capable of leading projects, making critical technical decisions, and mentoring junior developers. Excellent communication skills are also necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and to explain technical details in a clear and concise manner.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $132,400 - $246,000. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states: CA, CO, CT, IL, NV, TX, WA and/or remote. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $120,400 - $223,600. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
