Title: POTENTIAL Lead Backend Developer (Node.js - Koa.js - AWS - Docker)Location: RemoteDuration: Fulltime

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled backend developer in Node.js (specifically Koa.js) AWS and Docker. As a backend developer Intern, you will guide and work alongside the development team to design and implement server-side features for our mobile applications. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including building APIs, integrating with third-party services, interface with ethereum blockchain technologies and optimising database performance including scalability.

As a backend developer, you will be responsible for:Design and implement server-side features for our mobile applications using Node.js and Koa.js. Including building the internal API for our mobile application.

Build APIs that integrate with third-party/external services.

Optimise database performance and scalability.

Collaborate with the frontend team to ensure smooth integration of the backend with the application.

Collaborating with the development team to design and implement new features.

Testing, Debugging and fixing issues in the existing API.

Working with a team of backend developers including interns.

Ideate, collaborate and build products from scratch with the other teams in the organisation.

Implementing and managing AWS.

Refactoring and commenting code, including code written by other team members.

Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback.

Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Learning and staying up-to-date with the latest Node.js, Koa.js and backend development best practices.

To be successful in this role, you should have:Strong understanding of Node.js and experience with server-side development.

A strong knowledge, understanding and experience of object-oriented programming concepts.

Experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, SES, ECS etc.).

Experience with Express.js is required and Koa.js is preferred.

Experience with Git version control.

Experience with testing frameworks such as Mocha.

Experience with Solidity Smart contracts on EVM is preferred.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience working in a startup environment is a bonus, but not required.

A strong passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Education and Qualifications:Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field.

If graduated in an unrelated field, then showing strong experience in Node.js, Express.js, Koa.js (or API projects) and AWS as part of a portfolio can serve as a qualification as well.

Certifications from courses can also be submitted as supplements to the above.
