Job DescriptionThe disease surveillance system for the state of Iowa is currently being replaced. This position will be a developer on the scrum team working alongside the vendor during development. This position will be a developer on the scrum team working alongside the vendor during development. They will then continue to support and enhance the system in an agile approach. We are looking for a self-starter who is charged with designing and coding software on an agile development team. A good candidate will have a positive attitude and strong communication skills to work closely with clients to determine what they need, then use programming languages to create programs. The technology responsibilities of this position are as follows:Must have critical thinking skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilitiesProducing clean, efficient code based on specificationsFamiliar with Groovy, SpEL & PostgreSQLExperience with Jasper reports would be a plusTesting and deploying programs and systemsExperience in agile frameworks and popular coding languages such as, Jira, GITHUB and CI/CD Integrate software components and third-party programsGather and evaluate user feedback to recommend and execute improvementsCreate technical documentation for reference and reportingExcellent communication skills and attention to detailResourcefulness and troubleshooting skillsExperience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping
