About the Opportunity:

FedTec is looking for a Java/SQL developer position to fulfill the Web application development project needs for USPS client.

Position: Java/SQL Developer

Primary Responsibilities

Software Knowledge Rational Application DeveloperSQL Developer / SQL PlusPuTTY / WinSCPWebSphereSubversionCloud Platform DevelopmentEvent streaming platforms used to collect, process, store, and integrate data at scale. (such as Kafka)Working knowledge of control-M jobs / POB system, as well as the basics of as AFT systemMicroservices designSkills in: DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab) Functional Knowledge (one of more of the following):Knowledge/experience with Agile MethodologiesKnowledge/experience of SDLC practicesChange Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)API Tools, working, and best practicesSecurityPerformance tuning

Basic Qualifications (Experience Required)

JavaSpring Framework as a comprehensive programming and configuration modelSQLHTML/JavaScript/CSSBasic LINUX usage (navigating, reading files, sudo commands)

Work Schedule:

8 am to 5 pm ET

Additional Provisions

Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.Once a candidate’s resume is approved and the interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.An offer contingent upon successful USPS Public Trust clearance will be extended to the candidate.If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance. Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
