Senior Application Developer (Remote – MA)

We are looking for a candidate with the skills set mentioned and experience for one of our major clients within the sales industry. The company is an American multinational off-price department store corporation, headquartered in Massachusetts. This is an ongoing contract with the potential to extend. Open to Remote and local talent. Local candidates to Massachusetts preferred. This is a Contract to perm talent. Not open FTE currently.

Position Summary:

This role will be part of the corporate solution delivery team; a team of 16 people; most people are new. No specific technology is needed; the Client is not a development workshop; the Client is handling issues with applications and/or implementing new applications.

Will work with several teams and third-party vendors.Front-facing engineer; engineering solution mindset.Will be assigned to a scrum team.No coding; primarily integration work.Not opposed to supporting people but must have infrastructure and security experience.No Azure in this role but cloud knowledge is helpful.Limited third-party integration experience.Implementing third-party solutions.Collaborate with other teams.Communication is very important (take the lead in meetings with vendors).Leadership skills.Past titles or key experiences: Senior Staff Engineer, Software Developer, Tech Lead. Not looking for an architect.Candidate coming from the vendor side/third party side is not the best fit; need someone with a variety of applications/software experience.DevOps background - normally not good at supporting the need for this role; could be part of their experience but must have knowledge in other areas.

Position Responsibilities:

Technical role. The role will be working with infrastructure teams and other engineering teams to implement third-party solutions.There is a separate production support team that will handle tasks after implementation.Role will review documentation put together by other engineers; may need to put together some documentation themselves initially.Performing fixes for any vulnerability issues.Upgrade and replacements experience.Server configurations.Workday is a plus.Self-starter.

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

8+ years of strong experience in technical design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise solutions.Experience leading sizing, design, code analysis, coding, deployment, and support of working integration software/technology components, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers while providing direction to the engineering team.Top skills (sorted by priority): SQL (Oracle), server configurations, DB environments, Windows, Java, and .NET; the more, the better.Hands-on experience developing applications using Java/.NET, SQL, server configurations, windows desktop OS, and DB environments.Experience implementing SaaS solutions and working with vendors.Familiarity in analyzing and resolving security vulnerabilities.Infrastructure and security experience required.Solution engineer who can work across teams (software/integration engineer).Integration experience is required.SAFE knowledge is a plus.Agile environment.Experience implementing SaaS solutions and working with vendors.Experience working within an Agile Scrum team.No Azure in this role but cloud knowledge is helpful.Retail not required.Self-Driven Sr. Technology resource with leadership qualities.Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset/training/technical work experience.

Other job specifications:

Employment Type: C2C and W2. Open to contract-to-perm talent only (not currently open FTE). Contracting Length: This is an ongoing assignment with the potential to extend. Job Location : Remote. However, local candidates from Massachusetts will be highly preferred. Contracting Rate: $70/hr. C2C and $80/hr. W2. Interview Process: 2 rounds of interviews.
