Senior DevOps Developer

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports software development and deployment processes – how awesome is that?! You will work closely with development teams to ensure that applications are delivered to production with speed and efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. We’d also like you to mentor and guide more junior members of the DevOps team and participates in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems outside of regular business hours. You’d be the ideal person if you have The ideal significant experience in cloud infrastructure administration, automated deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely and efficient manner.

The Challenge

What You’ll Do:Infrastructure Design and Implementation: The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure required to support software development and deployment. This involves creating and managing cloud-based resources, such as servers, storage, and networking components, and implementing automation tools to manage these resources efficiently.Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for implementing and managing a CI/CD pipeline to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software applications. They work with development teams to ensure that the pipeline is configured correctly and that changes are rolled out safely and efficiently. System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for monitoring production systems to identify potential issues before they impact customers. They also troubleshoot and resolve issues that do arise in a timely and efficient manner. Mentorship and Collaboration: The Senior DevOps Developer mentors and guides more junior members of the DevOps team and collaborates closely with development teams to ensure that software is deployed with speed and efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code: The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for implementing and managing automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices to enable fast, reliable, and scalable deployment of software applications. Security and Compliance: The Senior DevOps Developer is responsible for implementing security and compliance measures to protect the company's infrastructure and data. They work with security and compliance teams to ensure that all necessary controls are in place and that the company is meeting all relevant regulatory requirements.

The Right Fit

Who You Are:

Skills & Experience:At least 8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure administration or related field.Very strong AWS experience: Kubernetes, Containers, RDS, EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, ElasticSearchVery strong experience with infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, Ansible and BitBucket Pipelines.Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and DataDog.Proficient with the following scripting tools: Python and Bash.Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals.Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.Certifications in AWS, Azure, or other relevant technologies are a plus. Nice to Haves:Experience with Azure Resources: VM, VMSS, App Services, SQL DBs, Redis, vNets, KV, and SA.Experience with infrastructure automation tools, ARM and Azure DevOps pipelines.Experience with infrastructure automation tools: PowerShell.Knowledge of infrastructure/architecture design patterns.Experience with Jira or Azure Work items.A good understanding of React and Node are a plus.

Location & Travel

This role will be remote with the occasional travel to our beautiful new office in Oakville, Ontario.
