C# GIS Developer

Role Overview: We are seeking a specialized C# GIS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in customer management efforts, including database design, implementation, and optimization, as well as spatial programming and Esri development. This role requires a deep understanding of data analysis, database design principles, and geographical information systems (GIS) programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Management (CM) Effort:

Design, implement, and optimize databases for customer management purposes. Utilize expert knowledge of data analysis and database design, including enterprise and desktop environments. Develop database design schemas, establish relationships, and optimize indexes. Optimize Entity Framework and SQL query transactions for efficient client/server communication. Configure, design, and implement stored procedures and triggers to enhance database functionality. Identify and implement normalization rules for database optimization. Develop and implement optimal database population and access techniques using .NET/C# and communicate these techniques to support developers. Utilize SQL Server design, with some experience in Oracle. Apply general developer skills to support the overall development process. Model Builder (MB) Effort:

Implement spatial programming and Esri development for model building efforts. Utilize GIS programming experience to work with proprietary (e.g., ArcGISRuntime) and open-source GIS libraries (e.g., DotSpatial). Understand and work with geographic and projected coordinate systems/spatial reference systems (e.g., WKT, EPSG) and reprojection techniques. Access and process GIS datasets, including Shapefile, geodatabase, GeoJSON, and ArcGIS server REST API. Develop performance-based spatial analyses, such as shortest distance calculations for lines, points, and polygons, including the development of spatial indexing techniques. Render layers and symbology in map controls for visualization purposes. Knowledge of the Esri ArcGIS ecosystem is desired to enhance development efforts. Apply general developer skills to support spatial programming and development tasks. Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or related field. Proven experience in database design, optimization, and implementation, with a focus on customer management. Strong proficiency in C# programming language and .NET framework. Expertise in spatial programming and GIS development, with experience in proprietary and open-source GIS libraries. Familiarity with geographic and projected coordinate systems and spatial reference systems. Experience accessing and processing GIS datasets using various formats and APIs. Proficiency in performance-based spatial analyses and spatial indexing techniques. Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS ecosystem is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
