About The JobThe Red Hat Ecosystem Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Budapest, Hungary. In this role, you will develop and maintain Red Hat Ansible collections. You'll gain an understanding of our partners' infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues. As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with partners on various specific initiatives, including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance of ansible playbooks. You will also support other engineers, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods.
What You Will DoServe as a trusted adviser for Red Hat engineers and project and technical managers to deliver and implement the right solutions for our partners and customersServe as a subject matter expert, addressing customer technical, development, and IT issues and needsLearn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needsAdapt to changing customer requirementsManage technical problem identification and resolution, support system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutionsParticipate in internal initiatives, create consulting white papers, and update the knowledge baseKeep stakeholders updated on issues that may affect project or company performanceRespond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions, and handle sensitive conversations in a professional mannerKick off new projects, guide the implementation team and monitor the progress of a project
What You Will BringExperience developing Python-based applications or related experienceKnowladge of Ansible (Or similar technologies like Puppet, Terraform).Experience with Linux-based operating systems (RHEL is a plus)Practical experience of developing features against REST and API endpointsKnowledge of automation practices and principlesExperience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projectsanalytical, problem-solving, project management, and planning skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishOpenShift knowledge is a plus
