Senior Software Engineer – Blue SkyThis is a position on the Blue Sky software development team, our products focus on Blue Sky regulatory and compliance services within the US Mutual Fund space. The role will focus on platform enhancements and maintenance for our leading cloud based SAAS product Blue Sky Solutions. You will work closely with our product owners and technical teams. You will also be an integral part of our software development team, maintaining and driving agile and SDLC best practices to efficiently deliver our product with a high level of quality. Detailed DescriptionThe Senior Software Engineer (SSE) is responsible for product implementation to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and/or data. SSEs are required to drive the design and implementation of our applications whilst improving our SDLC. Your focus will be on maintaining and developing our Blue Sky platform. You will be involved in the initial discovery through to design and implementation. This role requires an engineer with full stack skills - primary focus on API backend and database layer, and Angular as the front-end framework.The SSE should be highly skilled, must be detail oriented and possesses sharp troubleshooting skills; someone who is eager to deliver without compromising on quality, performance and security. They must be able to evaluate priorities and offer solutions on the varying program areas. This individual must have the skills necessary to create component and application designs, skilled in patterns and practices, and highly skilled in .net and C#. This role specifically requires high level knowledge of C#, .net and .net core, Entity Framework, and track record with cloud-based development with a focus on quality, performance and security.

Must Have Skills• Excellent knowledge/experience of .net/core, C#, Web API, Entity Framework, MS SQL.• Cloud based architectures preferably AWS.• Strong API/backend development experience - this includes proficiency writing SQL. Knowledge only of ORMs won’t cut it!• Front end Angular, TypeScript.• Well versed in finding and fixing performance related issues within business and data layers, including analyzing EF and SQL server queries as needed.• Track record of working with data intensive applications.• Git.• Excellent knowledge/experience of unit and integration testing.• Worked extensively in an agile/scrum environment.• You are strongly motivated to apply technical skills to solve tough problems and propose creative solutions, finding the best solution for the needs of the team while driving best practices.• Strong understanding of the software development process, agile methodologies, verification of functional and non-functional requirements.• Team player who can work efficiently and autonomously with minimal supervision.• Must be self-driven towards learning new domain concepts.

Primary Responsibilities• Our development teams operate within a fast paced agile/scrum environment, you will be a part of and help improve our products to meet our customer needs.• You will participate and contribute in our scrum ceremonies.• You will be comfortable working with Atlassian suite throughout our daily scrum activities.• We are a Microsoft shop on the backend, so you will be expected to have good experience with relevant development tools (Visual Studio, Resharper etc., MS SSMS)• You will advocate for quality and performance alongside engineering and business stakeholders• You will have a delivery centric mindset, with a focus on value, reusability, and extensibility• You will support the team to define and leverage existing best of breed frameworks, and contribute to their extension, to accomplish our objectives in a CI/CD environment.• You will implement standards, patterns and advocate best practices/approaches that others within the team can support.• You will support team members including the tech lead/architect and contribute to creation and implementation of software designs/architecture.• You will use your knowledge and experience to assist with internal app designs around API and data architecture and follow these through to implementation.

Experience and Education• 5-8+ years working with a C#, .net., Web API, EF and MS SQL• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
