Senior Software Developer II

IDEXX is looking for a Senior Software Developer II to play an important role in enhancing our IoT communication platform to support a growing customer base. Our cloud-based platform consists of an event-driven microservice architecture that enables IDEXX to provide continuous maintenance, monitoring, and support of medical instruments for pet health providers on a global scale. Our team is a high functioning Scrum team with a strong business partnership and drive for delivering great results.

In This Role You Will

Be a senior member of a highly effective team delivering industry-leading software.Design, build, test, deploy and iterate on software while fostering the professional development of junior team members.Partner with business to build and communicate a technical vision for the product and technical strategy within the project.Participate in strategic business and technical planning to bring innovations and ideas to life.Encourage and support learning within the team.Work with an experienced team of professionals across many disciplines.

What do you need to succeed?

7+ years of experience working as a Software DeveloperExperience using Java, Spring, and AWSIntrinsically notice inefficiencies and desire to resolve themDesire to influence, guide, mentor, coach, lead, support, and enjoy a heavily involved team atmosphereAbility to plan ahead and be strategicSeasoned experience working through technical challenges and solving complex issuesSupport continuous improvements to development practices and challenge the status quoAbility to lead discussions, projects, and influence othersProficiency with Java and Spring required. Experience with other Object-Oriented languages a plusPenchant for Test and Behavior Driven DevelopmentExcellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsSeveral years development experience creating, and maintaining, new and legacy solutionsExperience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIsExperience with relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL databases) and unstructured NoSQLExperience working with modern technologies and cloud platforms, with a strong focus on containerization and AWSKnowledge of client-server architecture and modern authentication patterns.Mature understanding and experience with secure coding and design principlesExperience working-in and supporting Scrum practices within the Agile framework
