Job Description
The Cloud Foundation Services team is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining core services that are used by the Oracle Global Industry Units to create enterprise-grade cloud offerings for their industries. These services include a Development and SRE for MSP, SDaaS, Networking and Security, and Database as a Service (DBaaS), to support high margin, highly elastic, and highly available Software as a Service application running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong programming skills with the depth and breadth to evaluate complex environments and technology stacks, and build/code/maintain efficient services and solutions. We use tools such as Python, RESTful API, Docker, and more, in a DevOps, CI/CD, agile development environment.
Role Details
This role is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineers to join the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Native DBaaS group. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for various tasks related to feature development, enhancements, bug fixes, and operations. Additionally, you will contribute to security maintenance and remediation efforts, participate in code reviews, help create standard operating procedures (SOPs), and collaborate on automation initiatives. The specific responsibilities of the role include:
Feature Development & Enhancements:
Collaborate on development and enhancements stories Adhere to established development practices and coding standards while implementing stories in accordance with acceptance criteria Participate in sprint ceremonies Create tasks for user stories and implement them. Contribute to Confluence documentation by documenting implemented features. Contribute to the refinement of user stories, ensuring requirements are well-defined Collaborate with the team to resolve bugs and address reported issues, ensuring quality deliverables
Security Maintenance or Remediation:
Monitor and identify daily scan issues. Assist in the remediation of daily scan issues by creating tickets. Assist in certificate rotation, patching tasks, and keeping the calendar updated. Report progress and escalate issues as necessary.
Code Reviews:
Create merge requests for their codes and follow the MR process Provide additional context including unit test result snapshots to help the reviewer understand the code changes they made. Actively respond to feedback and work with their reviewer to improve their code.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Understand and follow established SOPs for routine tasks and processes. Adhere to coding standards and guidelines specified in SOPs. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in following SOPs and share insights for improvement.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to demonstrate strong software development skills, stay up to date with industry trends, and actively share knowledge with team members. The role emphasizes quality, automation, and reliability, and you will have the opportunity to develop expertise in Oracle Cloud technology offerings and gain broad knowledge of how databases and services are commissioned using the Oracle Cloud platform.

Hiring Range: from $62,100 - $158,200 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
