Scope and Purpose of Position: The primary job responsibility of the Power BI Developer will be supporting enterprise reporting and analytics functions. Job assignments will include the development and deployment of Power BI dashboards to support reporting needs. Essential Functions: Design, develop and deploy dashboard solutions per the requirements utilizing Power BI technologyCreate ad hoc queries or reports to address critical business needs utilizing SAP Business Objects technologyExpertise in using DAX calculations on data sets within Power BIConnecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for business insights.Able to implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.Ability to trouble shoot data related issues within exsisting reports.Create test scenarios.Produce comprehensive documentation for all solutions developedAdept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI usageStay up to date with new features and best practices in Power BI. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field or equivalent relevant experienceMinimum of 3 years as Power BI developer with experience specific to the essential functions of this roleStrong proficiency in SQL and DAXExperience developing strong UX dashboards which present actionable insightsExperience in reporting toolsets, job scheduling, publishing, and distribution of reportsExperience building custom visuals within Power BIExperience working with business leaders to identify key performance metrics and developing associated reporting requirementsExperience in managed health care environment (vision) is preferred Competencies: · Team-orientated, with the ability to work effectively across different technical and functional areas of the company.· Excellent analytical, problem resolution, and people skills for translating data into informative visuals.· Critical thinking skills.· Strong verbal and written communication skills required for effective requirement gathering.· Ability to translate business requirements into BI solutions.· Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems.· Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.· Understanding vision care insurance or health care insurance data is a plus.
