The RoleThe Senior Software Engineer is responsible for playing a leading role on a team focused on thedevelopment of software used in Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. This person analyzes,designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements. Using Microsoft C# .NetDevelopment programming language and web technologies, will write code, completeprogramming, and perform testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation andprocedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define systemsrequirements and/or necessary modifications. Experience in object oriented design, coding,performance tuning, and unit testing. Knowledge of logical data modeling. The role will be about75% development and 25% system management and support. This person must also have goodcommunication and team building skills, and must be able to participate in software designdiscussions and guide the architecture of the solution based on good object oriented designconcepts, and both industry standard patterns and Microsoft best practices.

What You’ll Do

· Translates business requirements to conceptual solution architecture and high-levelproject estimates.· Develops, modifies, and implements Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted applicationsaccording to business requirements including:1. Microsoft C# .Net Development2. ASP.Net MVC 3.0+ framework3. WCF (REST/SOAP) web services4. MSSQL Server5. PostgreSQL6. NoSQL – Cassandra7. Open Source Technologies· Logical data modeling design and implementation· Object oriented design, coding, performance tuning, and unit testing· Research, extraction and entry of complex data· Reviews technical requirements to ensure compliance with business requirements· Performs proper unit testing and software code written (including automated unittesting)· Familiar with appropriate standards and techniques used during the SoftwareDevelopment Life Cycle process (SDLC, security) and applies them appropriately· Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing andcertification of software· Participates in peer code reviews· May work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with various team members and/orother groups both internally and externally· Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload· Perform such other duties as may be assigned by management

What You’ll Bring

Must: 6-8 years of experience, Data modeling and SQL (MSSQL), .NET, MVC, WCF (SOAP and REST), Agile team experience, SaaS development

Desirable: NoSQL, opensource technologies, transportation industry knowledge, Cloud knowledge (AWS)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or ElectricalEngineering· EXPERIENCE: 6-8 years of applicable Software Development experience· Excellent working knowledge of logical data modeling and Database management system· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft C# .Net Development, ASP.Net MVC 3.0+framework, WCF (REST/SOAP) web services· Versed in industry standard Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) processmethodologies and Agile methodologies such as SCRUM· Knowledge of Agile practices· Knowledge of Open Source Technologies· Knowledge of developing Software as a Service (SaaS) applications· Familiarity with UML in document design· Transportation industry knowledge desired but not required· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills· Approaches software development using industry standard concepts, practices, andprocedures· Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with various team members and/or othergroups both internally and externally· Ability to effectively engage in self-directed time management and prioritization ofworkload· Ability to work independently to develop new skills as needed to support new products and applications
