Senior Senior Java Developer / Java Architect - Remote - Open for European candidates

For an international institution in The Hague, the Netherlands, we are urgently looking for a remote Senior Java Developer / Java Architect.

The Senior Java Developer / Java Architect will be responsible of development for the re-platforming of JBOSS/JSF applications to Kubernetes. On this project most software runs on top of VM-Ware including the JBoss applications, the JSF services and the standalone (AMF) services.

EU candidates are welcome to apply. Candidates need to be fluent in English. A work permit is required, but not provided. This position is long-term and open for employees and contractors.

Tasks and Responsibilities:Execute implementation of a high-quality solution that is aligned with the EU Agency’s architecture standards and high-level architecture requirements;Monitoring of application logs to identify and react on exceptions which were not reported as an incident;Commit code to the GitHub (or any other relevant) code repository and migration of code repositories when requested;Setting up test environments for the purpose of SC2, SC3 and SC4 maintenance issues and configure pipelines to run necessary checks to allow for code basic validation;Knowledge transfer for systems to be included in the scope of the service;Utilize resources involved in the development process to assist in rolling out the software into production, ensuring that they always adhere to CI/CD processes;Investigation to identify the root cause and resolution of eOLF submissions and transactions which cannot be processed as well as any issues reported and to keep the client always informed;Analysis and resolution transmitted through the related incident management channel of issues reported by (external and internal) end-users;Contact with end users to solve incidents reported by internal and external users;Delivery of any required software development and maintenance changes to the source control system (e.g. GitHub for java changes) and to the relevant environment of the client to fully deliver the requirements as specified in the task in their entirety;Delivery of amended or new technical documentation, within a centralized storage system of the client, together with version control and update mechanism to ensure that all new or any existing documents are kept up to date with the latest or new software implementation and with new architectural developments;Binary packages implementing functionality in the scope of the Specific Contract;Source code, build procedures, test scripts, test data and all other artefacts used to produce binary packages above;Other non-binary deliverables, such us user manuals, design documentation, training materials. Design documentation to be delivered by default (for any change in design);User manuals and training material to be delivered upon specific request;

Profile:Master degree;+10 years of experience in the Information technology engineering; +7 Years of experience as a Senior Java Developer/Architect;Very strong expertise on migrating JBoss services to K8;+5 years of experience with the following technologies:o Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security)o Security: Kerberos, OIDC/OAuth2, Microsoft Azureo Cloud Native Architectures, DevOpso CI/CD: GitHub, ArgoCDo Containerization: Docker, Kuberneteso Monitoring and Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, log management solutions (ELK, Loki)o JBOSSFluent in English;
