Backend Python Developer

Urgently looking for Python Backend Developer (Only Brazil candidates preferred)

Salary: $100 per day

Location: Remote (CST time zone)

Experience: Senior

Must be fluent in English (C1 level).

Prioritised Relevant Skills: Python, JavaScript, Vue, Serverless, Containers, ORMs, Complex SQL

Location: Remote, East Coast or Central Timezone, Meetings are limited to starting between 10 AM and 5 PM Eastern.

About the Role:

• The major projects to be tackled over the next year are geared toward enhancing platform reliability, flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency. • The role will involve significant service-level refactoring of architecture, particularly around content ingestion and search.

• The backend is mainly Python, with other languages utilized in specific services, running in AWS containers and serverless functions using an event-based architecture. The primary frontend is built in Vue/Vuex, with other frameworks supporting secondary apps.

• Projects may involve working individually or in collaboration with other engineers. Effective communication and collaboration with non-engineering stakeholders are also required. While mentorship is important, the startup environment demands high independence, making this role ideal for those who prefer autonomy and trust.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience with a Computer Science or similar bachelor's degree (5+ years preferred)

• Experience with:

Python in a professional setting, active open-source usage, or another major project

REST APIs, ORMs, Git

Modern frontend frameworks (Vue, React, Angular)

Supporting applications in production environments

Modern deployment and infrastructure (CI, Serverless, Containers, etc.)

• Experience with or preparation for an interview regarding:

Modern state management libraries (Vuex, Redux, MobX, RxJS)

Event-based architecture, such as an event bus and message queue
