Position Description
CGI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer with Go (Golang) experiences to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on Go programming language. The candidate should also have significant experience with AWS and expertise in Open Policy Agent (OPA), including custom developments using REST interfaces.
This position is based anywhere in the US where CGI has an office in the Central/Eastern Time Zones.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Designing and implementing high-performance, scalable, and maintainable server-side applications.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Required 5+ years of software development experience.
At least 2 years of experience in GO (GOLANG) language.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust, and high-performance systems using Go (Golang).
Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
Design, code, and implement new features and APIs in a microservices architecture.
Experience with AWS cloud services and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Work with AWS services to build and deploy microservices and serverless applications.
Solid understanding of REST API development and integration.
Develop custom RESTful APIs and integrate with various third-party services and databases.
Implement and manage Open Policy Agent (OPA) for fine-grained access control and policy enforcement.
Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and refinement.
Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and document software implementations.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $55,600.00 - $180,200.00.
