NOTICE: Pursuant to section 20 C.F.R. 656.10(d), this notice is being provided as a result of the filing of an Application for Permanent Employment Certification for the following position:
General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) has an opening for the position of Software Developer Advisor (Ref# SDA325HD).
Work Location: Position may telecommute / work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Duties: Involved in all phases of the Appian development life-cycle, participating in design sessions, both from custom code as well as architecture standpoint. Develop and maintain applications using the Appian platform, including design, development, coding, implementation, maintenance, testing, and debugging. Develop applications in Appian business process management (BPM) and integrate with other COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) products. Develop and implement Appian and web-based applications. Collaborate with stakeholders, such as business analysts and project managers, to gather requirements and understand the objectives of the applications being developed. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design application workflows, user interfaces, and data models within the Appian environment. Create various document artifacts including design/technical approach document, target state diagrams, installation instructions, Visio diagrams, etc. Configure and customize the Appian software to meet specific project needs. Build critical Appian based application as well as associated integration components in Java. Provide technical guidance to mid-level developers as and when required. Participate in customer and team meetings to support various program tasks including design review, stage gates, technical roadmap, production troubleshooting including performance issues, etc. Work closely with release manager to ensure completion of key tasks including deployment, code baseline and merge, version control, etc. Work throughout the entire project life-cycle (requirements review, technical design, development, deployment, and maintenance). Develop BPM specifications to integrate with legacy applications leveraging web services, messaging, and enterprise service bus. Provide support and maintenance for existing Appian applications, including investigating and resolving issues reported by end users. Stay up-to-date with the latest Appian features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously enhance development skills and contribute to the overall success of Appian projects. Use of Agile, Appian, MySQL, Java, Spring, Web Services (SOAP & REST), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Jira.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years in a related occupation including Appian Developer or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 3 years of experience with designing, developing & implementing software solutions using the Appian platform and support & maintenance for Appian applications. Appian Certified Senior Developer certification required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
Salary: $ 165,173 / year

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
