About the Project

Actus covers core (re-)insurance processes like loss modelling, pricing, and capital modelling, in a highly customizable manner, fully built with Solveva IP. Technically, it is using TypeScript (React, NodeJS, Express, NestJS) for both frontend and backend. TypeScript and Python can be used for implementing actuarial algorithms. The scope of the application and the client base will increase.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will work closely together with our product owner, our developing teams, and with our clients. It’s this effective collaboration where Solveva excels and by which we lead the innovation in our field. It encompasses:

Applying our tools to expand our set of reference implementations Implementing together with clients their own solutions with our products Supporting business development activities Explaining the product owner’s and the client’s vision to the development team and creating a chain of lucent stories and tasks to make it happen Developing our actuarial kernel in TypeScript Staying up to date with actuarial methods as well as software engineering

Your Skills and Your Experience

You will have substantial exposure to Solveva colleagues as well as to clients. Therefore, your personality and work attitude need to match the Solveva culture right from the start:

Furthermore, you will need the following to succeed in your role:

University degree in a quantitative science (e.g. mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, or related), PhD is a strong plus 10+ years track record in implementing efficient algorithms for complex computational problems, of which at least a considerable part (5 years or more) cover insurance and reinsurance fields like underwriting, reserving, regulatory reporting, solvency calculations Sound understanding of programming paradigms Expert level in programming in TypeScript Experience with Mongo DB or similar databases Actuarial degree is a plus Familiarity with agile methodology for project management (SAFe is a plus) Business fluency in English A reasonable command of German (B1) is a plus
