Backend Developer

PlusMinusOne is a mobile startup studio that focuses on developing and marketing its own apps that are used and loved by millions of people around the world. Our products collectively reach more than a half-million new users every month in the US market alone. We are a remote-friendly startup with offices in San Francisco and Istanbul.

We have been building mobile products focused on Business, Photo & Video, and Education categories in the App Store mainly for the US market since 2019. And in each of these categories, our goal is the same: provide actual value to people with the best mobile user experience.

What we are looking for:

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field2+ years of experience in software engineeringPreferably proficient with Node.js, designing and developing REST APIs, AWS environment, CDN (Amazon Cloudfront etc.) experienced in technologies.Good understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, Clean Code conceptsGood understanding of fundamental design principles for a scalable applicationExperience with both relational and non relational databasesExperience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelinesExperience in applying AI to real world problemsExperience in python and python virtual environmentsExperience in deploying deep learning models on cloud platforms in a scalable wayUnderstanding basic concepts about deep learning, computer vision, large language modelsStrong analytical and time management skillsExperience with working in an agile environment

Your responsibilities will be:

Developing backend services for our mobile apps from the ground upRefine, and tune integrations between applicationsBring new technology and ideas to the tableInfluence cross-team initiatives and mentor mind and junior backend engineersParticipate in planning meetings, estimate tasks, do code reviews, and code in pairsDeploy, optimize and scale deep learning models
