About Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of data access and connectivity solutions, committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments. They are looking for an experienced Java engineer with a passion for system-level programming and data connectivity solutions. We value engineers who are dedicated to working on challenging projects and have a deep understanding of complex code bases

As a Senior System-Level Java Software Developer, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, responsible for building and maintaining a diverse range of data connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborating within a project team to deliver high-quality component solutions for desktops, middleware, and server platforms.Developing robust and efficient source code that aligns with business requirements and team standards.Proposing technical solutions for complex data connectivity challenges, such as query execution optimization, caching, and reliability.Creating comprehensive unit test cases to ensure the quality and stability of the codebase.Contributing to the team's growth and effectiveness through mentoring junior engineers, writing design documentation, and suggesting improvements to the codebase and testing process.Supporting the release process and identifying opportunities to enhance system efficiency and reduce operational costs.Experience with Driver Development

Must Have

Ability to effectively communicate via written and spoken English.5+ years of experience with Java programming:** Proficiency in Java 1.8 and above is essential.Testable Code: Proven experience in writing testable and maintainable code.Web Services and Data Formats: Familiarity with consuming REST and SOAP-based web services, as well as parsing JSON/XML and similar formats.Low-Level Work and Algorithms: Experience and expertise in working with low-level programming, including algorithms and data structures.Network Programming: Proficiency in network programming, including sockets and network protocols.Multi-threading and Synchronization: Strong understanding and experience with multi-threading and thread synchronization issues.TCP-based Protocols and Binary Data: Desirable experience working with TCP-based protocols (HTTP/REST/SOAP, TCP Sockets) and parsing binary data (Protobuf, Arrow, or similar).Database Connectivity: Experience connecting with a wide variety of relational and non-relational databases.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
