Back End Developer

Kopius is actively seeking an enthusiastic Back End Engineer to join our dynamic team! The project is within the Digital Agriculture industry and is based in San Francisco, CA. The team develops a platform that examines weather, soil and field data to help farmers determine potential yield-limiting factors in their fields. Key Responsibilities:Participate in the Back End Team tasks, architecting, designing, and developing RESTful APIs and security services. Develop and drive detailed project plans, design, cross-team coordination, estimation of tasks and their high-quality delivery and maintenance. Actively collaborate and drive issue resolution to conclusion. This may include, but is not limited to, production problems or triage/prioritization of Jira requests. Basic Qualifications:Intermediate/Advanced English skills with strong communication abilities.Self-motivated, quick learner, and adaptable to new technologies and legacy systems.Thrives in a team environment, actively contributes to collaboration, fostering a sense of community.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution. Embraces new ideas to enhance problem-solving processes.Qualifications:+7 years’ experience as a Back End Developer, using Python or JVM based language (preferably both). +5 years’ experience developing project plans, estimation processes, and ensuring that software development is delivered on-time with quality. +5 years’ experience designing and implementing REST APIs, using Python or another backend language. +5 years’ hands-on experience developing scalable backend services and platforms. Experience building microservices.Solid grasp of software engineering principles and best practices. Experience with relational and non-relational databases. Experience working with AWS or another public Cloud platform.Nice to have:Experience using SQL in application and analytical models. Experience working with Docker/containers/Kubernetes.
