We are looking for a Lead Application Developer to imagine, create, and support the ways interacts with our customers. In this role, you will work with business units and analysts to identify and understand business problems and goals and design, implement, and support the solutions to those goals. This position entails 50% new features/project work and 50% supporting/mentoring the team.
You are considered a technical leader on your team.You lead projects to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices on your team.Develop high quality, secure, scalable & maintainable software, abiding by coding standardsParticipate in technical planning, determine tasks associated with project assignments, estimates and dependenciesWork with Enterprise Architecture to design software solutions that supports the Mortgage Insurance life cycleReview code with other developers to share project and technical knowledgeFlex to work with new technologies and tools as explores new ways to deliver business solutionsMentor and counsel junior teammatesCollaborate with developers, analysts, and QA testers to plan and execute in a high-energy Agile environment
Do you have what it takes?
Education: Completion of Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Systems. Additional experience (3 years) beyond the minimum (below) may be substituted for education beyond an Associate Degree.
Experience:
Have 7+ years of experience using Java (or similar language)Experience with Agile methodology using Scrum or similarAbility to create and execute test cases using Junit with a mindset toward continuous testingAbility to create scalable technical solution designsStrong communication and collaboration skills (upward, lateral and downward)Eye on continuous improvementForward thinking on long-term vision/goalsExperience with Service Now ticketing, a plusExperience with JIRA, a plus
