Javascript Developer / Big Commerce Technical Lead

Job Overview: As the BigCommerce Project Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of BigCommerce projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership for a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions, and helping to maintain strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Javascript development and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:Serve as the primary technical point of contact for BigCommerce projects.Utilize your expertise in Javascript development to guide and support the rest of the development team.Client Collaboration:Answer any technical questions the client or our business analyst may have.Identify technical solutions for business requirements that the client or our business analyst have built.Ensure the project manager has the technical info they need in order to communicate project progress to the client, address concerns, and manage client expectations effectively.Problem Solving and Development:Proactively identify and address potential project issues and roadblocks.Develop effective solutions to meet acceptance criteria and quality standards.Troubleshoot bugs and recommend solutions.Project Oversight:Collaborate with the Project Manager and Customer Advocate to ensure BigCommerce projects are delivered on time and within scope.Provide input on project plans, milestones, and required developers for Project Managers.Team Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications:US location and excellent English.Proven experience as a Javascript developer.Experience with modern Javascript techniques such as Node.js and React. Ideally NextJS.An understanding of how to build apps that function in their own context (microservices).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and internal teams.Understanding of UI/UX.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work in a team environment with a project manager and others.Ability to understand and solve complex bugs and development tasks.Experience with BigCommerce or a willingness to learn the platform.

PreferredBigCommerce certification is a plus.Experience with other e-commerce platforms is beneficial.Familiarity with modern development tools and methodologies.Ideally in the Kansas City, MO or Springfield, MO area.
