Job Description
So, what will your new role look like?
As a staff frontend developer within the Workleap Internal Developer Platform team, you will work on challenges in an advanced modern frontend stack. You will build technological solutions, to set the centralized foundation for all software products developed at Workleap. You will contribute to grow a service catalog available to all developers, your customers, to provide capabilities for our products to complement each other’s, and to enable reusability, which will decrease development costs, shorten TTM, and lead to a better ROI.
As a staff developer, acts as a mentor to help developers to grow and thrive. Brings to the company the best practices used in the market, gets involved in a community, shares knowledge and learnings and stimulate their adoption within the organization. Responsible for the evolution of the IDP frontend vision and objectives. Accelerates decision-making when consensus cannot be reached otherwise. Leads by example by delivering value and achieving results with great quality and high velocity. Leads initiatives within the company to continuously improve practices. Empowers the team to deliver more value that meets stakeholder needs, while promoting risk mitigation and finds the balance between delivering fast VS over-engineering. Helps solve complex problems requiring a complete and detailed analysis and understanding of all variables.
You will embrace and promote the team’s principles:
🤝 Open Sourced, Open Minded. We leverage collective intelligence, and proactively seek external contributions to help us reach our goals faster, and better. 👂 We are humble. We listen to understand developer pains and needs and use their feedback to constantly improve our solutions. 💎 We provide value. We seek a large adoption by generating real value to developers, not by forcing the use of our solutions. 📄 Great documentation & support are key. We don’t stop at building a solution. We understand that the platform’s value is also reflected through its great documentation, and the help and support we provide to all developers using it. 👥 We act as a team. We embody a high performing team mindset by moving towards a common ambitious goal and doing our best to achieve it together.
You will have an impact by adopting a product mindset and by playing the following way:
By interacting with development teams to understand their needs. By maintaining the same product mindset as other teams on the owned code: Build it, ship it, run it. By aiming for a minimal platform: maintain balance between keeping the platform small and ensuring that the platform helps speed up and simplify software delivery for the teams building on the platform. By being accountable for the services your team offers. By relying on fast prototyping techniques and involving other team members for fast feedback on what works and what does not. By coordinating with practice leaders regarding architecture guidelines.
A typical week?
We aim to have the following balance:
Researching, learning, and developing (new and incremental value): 60%. Presenting and sharing knowledge with your colleagues (day-to-day delivery rituals): 20%. Helping and supporting teams to improve their development experience (individual & collective growth): 20%.
What does your future team look like?
You will be part of the Internal Developer Platform team of experienced 8 developers (full stack, backend and cloud developers) and a Technical Product Manager. They are highly skilled and autonomous. The team works with a lot of different other teams in the ecosystem and close to principal developers and architects.
What are the next challenges awaiting your team?
